The Fernie Fix "Best of Fernie" award is voted on every year by the local community. GearHub is proud to have ranked in the top 3 every single year since we opened in 2010! We have been voted Gold for the "Best Place to Purchase Summer Gear" for the past 6 years in a row, and Gold for the "Best Place to Purchase Winter Gear" for the past 3 years in a row!
FREESKIER Magazine Top Shop Contest
2018 was Freeskier Magazine's inagural "Top Shop" contest to vote for the best ski shops in North America! Ninety ski shops across North America were nominated, but although the competition was tight, GearHub placed #6 overall in North America, and #2 in Canada!
Kootenay Business Magazine "Best of Business" Award Winner
The Kootenay Best of Business awards are voted on by the readers of the Kootenay Business Magazine. GearHub is proud to have won Gold in the East Kootenay Bicycle Store category in the most recent vote!
Fernie Chamber of Commerce "Business Excellence" Award Winner
In our very first year of operation (2011) GearHub won the Fernie Chamber of Commerce's "Business Excellence Award" for two categories: the New Business of the Year Award and the Outstanding Customer Service Award. In 2014, GearHub was proud to win again, this time taking home the Retail Excellence Award.
In 2019, GearHub won the Outstanding Customer Service Award for a second time, becoming the only business to have ever done this in the history of the award!
In 2020, our hard work and customer-forward values found us in the top three for Outstanding Customer Service.
Our GM and partial owner, Mark Hall became a finalist in the Business Person of the Year category. Well deserved, Mark!
Gearhub received the Employer of the Year Award in 2022, and was also a finalist for Business Innovation.
In 2023, Gearhub was a Business Innovation Award finalist.
We are absolutely thrilled to have received the Youth Employer of the Year award for 2024! This honour reflects our commitment to hiring, training, and mentoring young individuals and empowering them to grow and thrive in the workplace.
