About Us

Gearhub Sports is a locally owned and operated outdoor store in beautiful Fernie, British Columbia. We are known for our expert service, awesome selection of skis, bikes, and gear for any outdoor adventure.

We operate a second location just off of Crowsnest Highway, that serves as Gearhub Adventure Rentals during the winter, and new for 2026, Gearhub Consignment operating year around!

Our Roots

	GearHub began as a shared dream between Mark Hall and Jonathan Levesque- two outdoor enthusiasts living in Fernie BC.
	In May 2010 they purchased a disused garage just off of Fernie's historic downtown 2nd Ave strip.
	Jon and Mark spent the summer of 2010 putting in long hours of hard work with their family and friends to convert the garage into a gear store!
	On September 2nd 2010, the store was ready to open its doors for the first time! Every year since we have celebrated this anniversary with a Labour Day Weekend Sale Event.
	GearHub quickly flourished in the community, winning awards like "Best of Fernie" and the Chamber of Commerce's "Business Excellence Award" for Outstanding Customer Service & for the New Business of the Year within the first year of opening!
	On July 2nd 2018, GearHub had a small fire in store. Due to quick thinking on the part of staff members, the store was saved from destruction, but the smoke that filled the shop caused a variety of problems, and meant the store had to close its doors for professional cleanup teams for several weeks. The cleanup crews did an amazing job, and GearHub was able to fully re-open on July 28, 2018!
	In December 2018, GearHub opened a second, rental focused location. This second location is called GearHub Adventure Rentals, and is a place to rent winter gear like skis, snowboards, fatbikes and cross-country skis, and summer gear like stand up paddleboards, river rafts, and mountain bikes.
	In April 2026, Gearhub Consignment opened to the public, operating out of the same building as Gearhub Adventure Rentals.
